Wellmid2580 High Strength Epoxy Putty For 4.2K ‌LHe/77K LN

Wellmid2580AB is a 2K epoxy putty structural adhesive, developed for 4.2K LHE(-268.95℃), 77K LN (-196.15℃) cryogenic service and underwater repair. Moderate curing speed, ensures good substrate wetting and easy repositioning. Once cured, it has high strength, hardness and toughness, outstanding resistance to LHE/LN impact, good water & chemical resistance and underwater curability. Bonds and fills gaps on metal, glass, ceramic, concrete, certain rigid plastics and rubbers. Especially for bonding/repairing/shaping superconductor, cryogenic electrical equipment, hot/cold pipelines and tanks. Also suitable for fixture/repair of clamps and molds. Surface Pretreatment

Great bonding strength and durability rely on proper surface pretreatment.

Clean bonding surfaces thoroughly with degreasing solvents such as acetone or anhydrous ethanol to remove grease, dirt and dust. Dilute alcohol, gasoline or paint thinners are not recommended for wiping.

Maximum bonding strength and durability can be achieved via mechanical sanding, sandblasting or chemical etching. A second cleaning is required after surface treatment.

Adhesive Application:

For optimal bonding performance, Wellmid 2580 Part A and Part B must be fully mixed at the specified ratio.

Two-component metal cans support long-term airtight storage, cutting waste and contamination. The included plastic cover keeps dust out after partial use, preserving product quality temporarily and boosting working efficiency.

A 0.10–1.00 mm adhesive layer can fully wet the bonding surface and achieves maximum lap shear strength. Over-thick glue layer or excessive adhesive around will not increase bond strength.

Warning:

All tools should be cleaned with hot water and soap before adhesive residues cure. Cured residues are difficult and time-consuming to remove. If solvents such as acetone are used for cleaning, proper protective precautions must be taken to prevent skin and eye contact. Used metal cans and mixing tools can not be reused.

Storage&Package:
Wellmid 2580 A & B shall be stored separately at constant RT., protected from sunlight prior to use. Maximum shelf life exceeds 36 months. Refer to label for exact expiry date.

Packaging: 750g can kit, 3oz (85.05g) can kit.
